Last night I decided to try something new. And I wanted to share it with all of you! It turned out really cute, and I know it’ll look great as a decorative accent in one of my girl’s rooms. Then I decided to turn it into a tutorial. Such an easy project. Ok, here we go…
Here is what you’ll need. Some type of surface. Such as a plate, or coffee cup…
Mod Podge, foam brush and 1, 2 or however many doilies you want to use. I used 2.
OK. So first off, lay your doilies where you want them to remain forever.
Once you’ve decided where they’ll go, break out your mod podge and foam brush. Brush a little mod podge directly on the plate {or whatever surface you’re using} then lay the doily on the plate. Make sure it’s where you want it. Then begin covering the doily with mod podge. Make sure you slather it on good so the entire doily is covered and will remain stuck on the plate.
Here is my partner in crime :)
OK. So once you’ve covered both doilies with mod podge, proceed to cover the rest of the plates surface with mod podge as well, so there aren’t any clumps of it anywhere.
Next flip over the plate. You’re going to want to wrap the parts of the doily that are overhanging off the plate to the back of it.
Like so. Then let it try… probably about 20-30 minutes.
And voila! You have a new awesome decoration for anywhere in your house!!
Isn’t it great?
If you make this project, make sure and let me know! I always love seeing your creations!!

Love this! I can think of way too many places I’d like to put a few of these…I think I might try dying the doilies (or spray painting) a few to add a little color…maybe. I really like the white on white. :)

That IS great! I have some doilies from my grandmother that I haven’t known what to do with since I’m not really a doily person…but that is lovely, and a great way to display them! Thanks for sharing!

Love the project! I’m new to Mod Podge and the kitchen. Can you use with food?

I wouldn’t recommend using with food.

I love this! I just bought a pack of doilies from the Dollar tree, not sure what I wanted to do with them, but they were so pretty. This will be beautiful! I love the combination of modern look plate with vintage doilies!
