I Have News! BIG Fun News!

In my first pregnancy with Angelina I just knew she was a girl.  Knew it.

With Zoe I was pretty sure she was a girl.  Angelina told me she knew she was going to have a sister.  She got her wish.

With this pregnancy I’ve really had no clue.  I just kept thinking I’d love to have a boy but had a feeling it was going to be a girl, because it seemed like my wonderful husband only makes girls.  :)

Zoe and Angelina both told me from the beginning that they thought this baby would be a boy.  In fact, Zoe once said, “I will have a baby brother and his name will be Rambo!”  haha!  That girl cracks me up.

A few weeks ago I volunteered at an ultrasound school in hopes that they’d be able to tell me the gender of this little babe.  The woman told me I was having a girl, that was until she moved to another angle.  But she just thought it might be the umbilical cord.  But then said maybe it wasn’t a girl.  But she said “I’m 80% sure you’re having a girl”.  So I assumed girl.

Today I had my anatomy scan ultrasound.  Baby is growing like a weed.  I love getting ultrasounds.  It’s always so neat to me to see my babies growing in my belly.  Heart looks great, as does the brain, etc.  And what do ya know… baby was not bashful what so ever.  We were able to see the gender very easily.  Let’s just say… my mom, daughters and I cried with joy when we saw the gender.  Bet you’ve guessed by now, right?

IT’S A BOY!!!!!

Seriously you guys!  I really wanted a boy.  So so badly.  I can’t tell you how thrilled I am about this.  I’ve been smiling all day!  My husband and I don’t have any names yet other than the name has to start with an M and baby boy’s middle name will be Benjamin just like Mike’s.  Initials will be MBB just like Mike’s dad, grandpa and great grandpa.  I’ll let you all know his name once we decide on it!  :)

SO how fun is this, friends?  In January (hopefully not sooner… one preemie is enough for me) I’ll have a SON!  Eeeep!  So exciting!!!!

So.  Since I’m so used to having girls, I need your help!  Where is the best place to buy cute (but not cutesy) boy clothes?  What are some essentials for boys and what are some of your great product recommendations?  I can’t wait to see your suggestions!  I need all the boy help I can get.  :)

Talk soon!

  1. Yay! I love long sleeved white onesies to layer under t shirts and teensy converse. I like Children’s Place for cute T’s and dress clothes (although I’m not a big fan of their girl stuff). Target and Old Navy are also go-to places for clothes, but they don’t always have a huge selection.

  2. Ooooh my goodness, I am soooo happy for you to have a boy…what fun that will be!!! I’d offer some tips, but as you know, I’ve got GIRL #4 on the way…so I have no clue what to offer you in the sense of boy tips, hahahahah. Well seriously that’s great…congrats!!

    Hugs,

    Jamie :)

  3. I know I’ve told you a million times, but again, I am SO excited for you!!!! :D <3 <3 <3

  4. Boys are so fun! H & M, baby gap, old navy and quiksilver, Hurley, volcom stuff are my favorite.

  5. SO so so so so ridiculously excited for you!!! I’m not sure how much help I could be in the clothes and such department…ya know…being that my boy is 9 now!! But, I will say boys are fun and your girls are going to be amazing big sisters!

Did I mention how excited I am for you?!?!

  6. Okay, being a mom to a two year old little man….I think I can help.

Gap has cute boy clothes for winter.
Hanes makes the best little boy tees in white which you can iron on or screen print with freezer paper
Invest in white onesies…you can paint and dye and craft to your hearts content. And nothing is as cute as a little boy in white onesies and jeans
Carters has the best soft sleepers, Children’s place has the best polos for boys.
Bibs- snaps are the way to go…period
Ah and if you are looking for quirky boys stuff. ThinkGeek.com

  7. Congrats again! I’m having a lot of fun shopping for a boy too! I’ve found a few cute things at The Children’s Place, Gymboree and Old Navy

  8. Awww! Congradulations!
When our daughter was born, she was the 6th grand daughter with ZERO boys. When I went in for our second babys ultrasound, there wasn’t a thought in my mind that this baby could be a boy. After all these girls, it just didn’t cross my mind that we would be the ones to have the first boy.
In the middle of the ultrasound, the tech in a very bored voice said, “It’s a boy.” I almost screamed, I was SO surprised and couldn’t stop smiling, either. My mother-in-law is the one who took me (she waited in the other room), and it was hard because I just kept bursing out in this huge grin, and we wanted to keep it a surprise until we got the family together to tell them all at once.
So congratulations! I’m practically jumping up and down for you, lol. Not that a girl would be any less sweet and special (praying for our next to be a girl <3), but it's a different sort of excitement having something entirely new coming along.

  9. Ahhhhh….. I lurve boys. Wouldn’t mind two or three more. I love my daughter of course but I sure am glad I have both genders to raise.

  10. Congratulations!!

The Baby Gap has the best selection for infant boy stuff. You can usually catch a good deal in there (this weekend was 40% off you purchase, so you can bet I got ahead start on my Christmas shopping). The Children’s Place has cute stuff, but the quality just isn’t the same. Nothing worse then spending your money on something only to have it fall apart :(
